Privacy and cybersecurity of wearables
Overview
The aim is to evaluate and improve researchers' awareness of privacy and cybersecurity risks that commercial wearables pose to sports science research. The preferred formats for studies are scoping reviews and user studies. The selected approach is participatory action research (PAR) which engages participants as experts in their field and collaboratively works to find common ground for pressing research challenges.
Goals
- Raising awareness of best practices for sports science in the area of data protection risks posed by wearables.
- Raising awareness of best practices for privacy secure wearables in the commercial sector.
- Raising awareness of the needs of under-represented populations in research concerning the data protections risks posed by wearables to sports science.
